Around the World with Teens

Ever wonder what it would be like to drop everything and take your family on an around the  world trip while living from backpacks for more than a year?  Mike and Catrell Cooney did more than wonder.  They wanted to give their kids a world-wide education, but they had limited financial resources.  Not to be dissuaded, they sold most of their belongings then set off with their three teenage boys on a trip of a lifetime.

Their 61,000-mile journey covered six continents and 22 countries.  Cooney recently published the first of two books about the trek.  This book covers their four months and 5000 miles of adventures in Latin America.  It’s an entertaining and inspirational story that is not afraid to address either the low or high points of the adventure.

The book is titled Cooney World Adventures Backpacking with Teens Through Latin America.  Watch for the next book this fall.
