page. \u00a0 At that website you can specify your state, National forest or Forest Service administrative region and get a list of links to information about recommended viewing sites. \u00a0You will learn when to look, what to look for and\u00a0find\u00a0photos to help you identify your discoveries.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/explore.globalcreations.com\/theblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/WhiteFlower.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-2549\" src=\"https:\/\/explore.globalcreations.com\/theblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/WhiteFlower-300x274.jpg\" alt=\"White Flower\" width=\"225\" height=\"206\" srcset=\"https:\/\/explore.globalcreations.com\/theblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/WhiteFlower-300x274.jpg 300w, https:\/\/explore.globalcreations.com\/theblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/WhiteFlower.jpg 550w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a>The Bureau of Land Management doesn&#8217;t have an organized repository of wildflower information, but if you go to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blm.gov\/\">blm.gov<\/a> and search for wildflowers you will find links to many locales and a lot of information about wildflowers to be found. \u00a0Habitats tend to be different between BLM and Forest Service sites so you will likely find different flowers depending upon which lands you explore.<\/p>\n<p>Like the BLM, the Park Service lacks a central repository for wildflower information. \u00a0A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nps.gov\/search\/?affiliate=nps&amp;query=wildflower\" target=\"_blank\">search of the Service&#8217;s website<\/a> reveals a long list of links to wildflower information at individual National Parks.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_2552\" style=\"width: 235px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/explore.globalcreations.com\/theblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Downingia.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-2552\" class=\"wp-image-2552\" src=\"https:\/\/explore.globalcreations.com\/theblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Downingia-300x262.jpg\" alt=\"Downingia bella\" width=\"225\" height=\"197\" srcset=\"https:\/\/explore.globalcreations.com\/theblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Downingia-300x262.jpg 300w, https:\/\/explore.globalcreations.com\/theblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Downingia.jpg 550w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-2552\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Downingia bella<br \/> Kilgore Reservoir, Oregon<\/p><\/div>\n<p>If you are looking for a specific flower, \u00a0you can use the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wildflower.org\/plants\/\">database at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center<\/a> to get information about it. \u00a0The same database will take information about your location, time of year and other characteristics and provide you with a list, with photos, of the plants you might find there.<\/p>\n<p>There are also <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/1UEva9r\">a lot of field guides for wildflowers<\/a> and some of them are specific to certain areas like <em><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/1OuL49Q\">Wildflowers of Georgia<\/a><\/em>, <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/1OuLVqT\"><em>Wildflowers of Colorado<\/em><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/23gIR4A\"><em>Wildflowers of New England<\/em><\/a>, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/1UEw1qw\">Southern California Mountains Wildflowers<\/a><\/em> and many more.<\/p>\n<h1>Get Out and Explore<\/h1>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2557\" src=\"https:\/\/explore.globalcreations.com\/theblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/DeadIndianMemorialRoad.jpg\" alt=\"Dead Indian Memorial Road\" width=\"225\" height=\"219\" \/>Once you have done the research, \u00a0you will have a pretty good idea of where to look for wildflowers. \u00a0Then it&#8217;s just a matter of getting out to those places and searching. \u00a0Success can be quite variable because site specific conditions can vary with the weather, even day to day. \u00a0Still, with your eyes wide open you are likely to find wildflowers of some sort. \u00a0Some are tiny, but just as interesting as their larger, showy cousins, so look closely. \u00a0All in all, \u00a0wildflower hunting is a great way to get outside and explore.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1>Please Share<\/h1>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;
