A host helps other campers by answering questions, providing information about the local area, and acts as the &#8220;eyes and ears&#8221; for identifying problems when Forest Service employees are not present. Hosts might also be asked to clean and maintain the campground, or collect fees from other campers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;Campground hosts will receive training, a uniform, and a free campsite, but are expected to bring their own tent, trailer, camper or motor home to stay in. Most National Forest campgrounds have water and toilet facilities, and very few have electrical or sewer hookups. Campground hosts may also be eligible for modest reimbursements on their expenses.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;Individuals or couples can be hosts. In some cases, it may be a family affair. Often, retired couples find it the ideal way to spend their summer. Hosts need to be friendly, flexible, and responsible.
