Sometimes it’s tough to get outdoors and exercise in the winter. Still it’s a great time of the year to enjoy the outdoors. You’ll find that outdoor activities will keep you very warm and your body will burn more calories just to make that happen. I’ve split wood at -20F wearing a t-shirt and jeans. I was continually on the verge of sweating, but never did. I’ve cross-country skied many places in the hills of Wisconsin and the mountains of Montana and Oregon. Believe me, cross country skiing will keep you warm – you’ll want to carry a pack just to have a place to store the extra outer wear you thought you needed as you set off. Stay dry and let your internal furnace keep you warm.
