What is in Ireland?

Hill of Tara

This photo, from What is in Ireland, offers a birds-eye-view of The Hill of Tara. Used with permission.

I came across a great website that explores Ireland.  Jason, the creator of the website, is the chief explorer. He says, “I just love my country’s history and love exploring places of interest. I also take time to listen to the older generations stories about the more modern history of the 1900’s and tales that have been passed to them of the 1800’s.”  He explores his country on the basis of this historical knowledge.

Jason has explored and written about many places I had never heard of before:

  • Rock of Cashel
  • Hill of Tara
  • Skellig Michael Island
  • Benbulben
  • Marble Arch Caves
  • Dun Aengus
  • Cliffs of Moher
  • Cooley Peninsula
  • . . . and many more.

Much like the articles in our eMagazine, Jason includes historical background, a discussion of the present condition of the area and lots of photos that give the reader a great feel for each area.  He also explains how to get to each location.

In addition, Jason includes stories on historic subjects as well as contemporary Irish life.  If you are planning an adventure in Ireland or just want to learn more about the history and present of the Emerald Isle, you’ll find it all at whatisinireland.com
